Rockbot - Change Playlist
You can either temporarily change the playlist for your store's music, or you can set a permanent change. Instructions for both methods are outlined below.
Temporary Override Playlist
To temporarily change the music playing at your store:
- Click the Home icon on the left.
- Click the Override Playlist button from the middle of the screen.
- A window displays that lets you browse or search for playlists.
- You can enter a song, artist or genre of music in the search box in the upper left, or click through the different menus on the left to find other playlists based on different categories.
- Once you find a playlist you like, click on it to view more information about the playlist such as artists featured in the playlist.
- If you want to use this playlist, click the Add Override button in the top right of the window.
- You will be taken back to the home screen and the middle of the screen will display the override playlist and how much time is left before the playlist switches back to the default station. You can increase or decrease the time by clicking the + and – buttons. You can also cancel the override and return to the default station by clicking the Remove Override button.
Note: Changing a playlist does not happen instantaneously, the Rockbot player will change the playlist after the next song. The same is true if you cancel the override.
Permanently Change Station
If at any time you would like IT to handle changing your music for you, or log on and help you do it yourself, please do not hesitate to contact the IT Helpdesk for assistance.
A Rockbot station is a collection of one or more playlists. For instance, the Billion Auto Default Station is a station that contains the playlists Classic Rock, 90s Mix and Top Radio Hits.
- Click on the Music icon on the left-hand side of the dashboard.

Notice there are two tabs at the top: Billion Auto Defa… and Default Station. Under the title of the tab you see that Billion Auto Default Station is scheduled to play Mon-Sun and the Default Station is unscheduled.
The first thing you will want to do is add playlists you select to the Default Station, then schedule it play on the days of the week you want that to play instead of the Billion Auto Default Station.
- Add Playlists to the Default Station.
- Click the Default Station tab
- Click Add Playlist
- A window displays that lets you browse or search for playlists.
- You can enter a song, artist or genre of music in the search box in the upper left or click through the different menus on the left to find other playlists based on different categories.
- Once you find a playlist you like, click on it to view more information about the playlist such as artists featured in the playlist.
- If you want to use this playlist, click the Add To Station button in the top right of the window.
- The button will change to read Remove once it is added.
- You can click the left arrow in the top left of the screen to search for more playlists to add to your station if you want.
- Once you add all the playlists you want for your station. Click the X in the top-right of the window.
- The Default Station window will now show all the playlists you added to the station. To the right of each playlist you can set the priority on the playlist, or you can remove the playlist.
-
Set Priority will let you indicate how frequently songs from that playlist play on your station. By default, they are all set to Normal so you should experience an even mix of all playlists. Raise the priority on a playlist to hear songs from that playlist more frequently or lower it to hear less songs from that playlist.
-
Remove will completely remove that song from the Default Station.
-
Schedule the station to play.
- Now that you have playlists added to the station, you need to schedule the station to play. To do that, we need to tell Rockbot what days NOT to play the Billion Auto Default Station. Rockbot will automatically play the Default Station on any day you are not scheduled to listen to the Billion Auto Default Station.
- Click on the Billion Auto Defa… tab.
- Click the gear icon on the tab. You should see a window like this:

- The Blue days of the week indicate days that Billion Auto Default Station will play. Click on them to turn them gray and your own Default Station will automatically play on those days you choose not to listen to the Billion Auto Default Station.
- Click Done at the bottom right when finished.
Note: It will take a song or two before the station switches, if you are changing it for the current day of the week.
