Paycom Error When Trying to Clock In/Clock Out
Two common errors you may see in Paycom when trying to clock in or clock out are:
Your employer has restricted your ability to perform this action
This punch type is not allowed from your location
The reason you see these errors is because Paycom can not determine your location. You must enable location services in Chrome (if using a web browser), or on your phone (if using the mobile app). Instructions for enabling location services on Chrome and mobile devices are provided below. Please note that mobile phone interfaces change frequently and the provided instructions may not exactly match how to perform these actions on your own device.
Enable Location Services in Chrome:
- Open Chrome on your desktop and navigate to the Paycom login page.
- Select the lock icon to the left of the web address bar.
- Toggle the option for Location to the on position.

Enable Location Services for iPhone App:
Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services.
Make sure that Location Services is on.
Scroll down to find the Paycom app.
Tap the Paycom app and select the option: Always: Allows access to your location even when the app is in the background.
Enable Location Services for Android App:
- Swipe down from the top of the screen.

Touch and hold Location
. If you don't find Location
:
a. Tap Edit
or Settings
. Then drag Location
into your Quick Settings.

Tap App permissions.

Find the Paycom app in the list
- To change the Paycom app's permissions, tap it. Then, choose Allowed all the time.
